Five-year-old denied use of a walker

A Texas public school is telling a five-year-old girl with cerebral palsy and epilepsy that she can no longer use her walker.

Must use wheelchair?

After observing the girl fall in her walker in the school parking lot, the school is arguing that the walker, which the girl has used for two years, is a safety hazard.

The girl’s mother, Kristi Roberts, is fighting back. She posted a conversation with a school official on YouTube. The video has been viewed more than 50,000 views as of March 31.

“If she can walk now, please let her walk,” Roberts told NBC. “Don’t strap her in a wheelchair. We’ve worked so hard. She has worked so hard.”
